JAKARTA - General Motors (GM) together with the LLC Travel Centers Pilots, and EVgo announced the opening of the first 17 locations of the electric vehicle fast charging network and is available in 13 states.

Quoted from the official website of GM, Friday, December 8, this charging network provides a better experience, providing electric vehicle users with access to the same facilities offered at the location of the pilot and Flying J travel centers.

Electric vehicle drivers want a better charging experience and have more charging locations in America, and this new charging site will be critical to increasing trust, said Adam Wright, CEO of the LLC Travel Centers Pilot.

He further said, as interest in electric vehicles increases, he believes the existing charging network can be a catalyst to bring in more electric vehicle consumers.

The three industry leaders have made efforts to provide a judicious, practical, and easily accessible charging experience for current and future electric vehicle drivers for long-distance travel.

Several interesting facilities are also offered, such as several fast charging stations in each location, with chargers capable of generating up to 350kW, a canopy to help protect drivers from bad weather during charging, access to toilets, free food and beverage options, and Wi-Fi to Plug and Charge compatibility for an efficient charging experience.

The experience of digital users has also been built into this network, where electric vehicle owners can find charging locations available through the GM vehicle brand application, Pilot's my Rewards Plus application, EVgo app, PlugShare, and other applications designed for electric vehicle drivers.

"Along with GM continuing to advance its vision of an all-electric future, we are collaborating widely to accelerate comfortable charging access at home and on the way, giving additional trust to potential single-vehicle customers considering electric vehicles," said Wade Sheffer, vice president of GM Energy.

By the end of 2023, it is hoped that at least 25 Pilot and Flying J travel centers will be equipped with fast charging of electric vehicles, with around 200 targeted locations by the end of 2024. In total, the network will cover up to 2,000 high-power fast charging stations.

"EVgo is committed to providing a comfortable, reliable, customer-centered charging experience, collaboration with GM and Pilots to increase the confidence of each customer," concluded Dennis Kish, chief operating officer of EVgo.
