Mazda Reveals Plans for 2024 in Indonesia, Including Launch of First EV

JAKARTA - PT Eurokars Motor Indonesia (EMI), Mazda's brand holder agent (APM) in Indonesia, has announced its strategic plan for next year at the Mazda Power Drive 2023 event. This plan includes a number of aspects to provide a new color to the automotive industrial sector in Indonesia.

One of the main points in this planning is the addition of six new dealer networks next year. This step was taken with the aim of expanding Mazda's service coverage, making it easier for consumers throughout Indonesia to get quality service. Currently, Mazda Indonesia has succeeded in presenting a network of 26 dealers spread across various regions in the country.

Ricky Thio, as Managing Director of PT EMI, expressed his commitment to providing a better customer experience.

"We are focused on expanding the dealer network to provide comfort and easy access to service to loyal Mazda customers throughout Indonesia," he said.

Apart from increasing the dealer network, Mazda also plans to launch a series of new models. This model series will include vehicles with Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) engines and electrified variants, showing Mazda's commitment to providing a wide choice of vehicles according to the needs of the Indonesian automotive market.

They also emphasized that they would introduce more vehicles powered by electricity, both hybrid and EV, along with the launch of other new ICE models.

“We plan to present a roadster in the first half of 2024 along with an updated compact SUV and medium SUV. "Then we will present other electrification products in the second half of 2024 by presenting SUV models that use Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV), Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV), and Mild-Hybrid (MHEV) technology," added Ricky.

It is no longer a secret that the BEV car in question is the Mazda MX-30, which marked its debut in Indonesia at the 2023 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) last August.

The Mazda MX-30 represents Mazda's foray into electric vehicles. This SUV is powered by a permanent synchronous AC type electric motor with a power of 143 horsepower, as well as a front-wheel drive system and direct-drive transmission.

This vehicle is equipped with a 32 kWh liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery and can cover a distance of up to 161 km after one charge.
