JAKARTA - Morris Garage (MG) has announced that both electric vehicles (EV), namely MG ZS EV and MG4 EV, are the models to be produced locally in Indonesia. These two models will be produced at SAIC Facility, Cikarang, West Java.

Different from the MG4 EV which has been marketed in the country, the MG ZS EV will begin to be produced and marketed in Indonesia starting in 2024. However, several customers have ordered vehicles since this SUV debuted at the 2023 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) last August.

Arief Syarifudin, as Marketing & PR Director of MG Motor Indonesia, said that the electric SUV had been ordered by 1,300 consumers since last August with undisclosed market prices.

"Currently, ZS EV reservations are still open. Yesterday it reached around 1,300 units with a note that they don't know the price yet," said Arief during a media interview session in Jakarta, Wednesday, November 15.

He added that this number includes customers who order online reservations or come to direct dealers and it is hoped that it will be sent to customers in February or March.

"Reservation online. So they order via online or come to direct dealers," added Arief.

As an illustration of the price, MG ZS EV is sold in the global market for 30,495 pounds or around Rp576.6 million. In comparison, the conventional version of MG ZS in Indonesia is sold at a price of Rp335.8 million for the Ignite variant and Rp355.8 million for the Magnify variant.
