Not Cans, BYD Seal And Dolphin Achieve The Predicate Of The Five-Star Euro NCAP

JAKARTA - BYD is a Chinese auto giant who is currently competing closely with Tesla in global electric car sales. BYD is known for its affordable vehicle offerings, but is also equipped with the most advanced features, and adequate safety equipment.

Recently, BYD Seal and Dolphin won the five-star title from the European New Car Assessment Program (Euro NCAP). Both models use Platform 3.0, which is equipped with various safety devices both active and passive.

Reporting from Paultan, Wednesday, November 8, BYD Seal managed to score 89 percent in the adult passenger protection category and 87 percent for the protection of child passengers. In addition, this sedan scored 82 percent in the autonomous emergency braking category and protection for pedestrian collisions. In terms of driver monitoring to detect drowsiness, Seal scored 76 percent.

Meanwhile, BYD Dolphin got the same score as Seal in the adult passenger protection category and children. In addition, the car scored 85 percent for road users protection, as well as 79 percent for safety assistance features.

Michiel van Ratingen, Secretary General of Euro NCAP, stated that BYD has met the safety standards set by its institution. He also emphasized the importance of innovation for automotive manufacturers, especially in terms of safety.

"With the rapid advancement of technology, aspects such as driver assistance open up new opportunities for competition. Euro NCAP will continue to ensure that new technologies are introduced in a way that ensures full safety," he said.

Seal and Dolphin's success adds to the list of BYD cars that have won the highest safety title, joining Atto 3. This admission is in line with BYD's plan to expand sales of their vehicles in Europe.
