JAKARTA - Indonesian young racer, Kiandra Ramadhipa, revealed the key to his success in carving a brilliant achievement by winning the highest podium in Race 2 Red Bull Rookies Cup 2026 at the Sachsenring series, Germany.
The 12-year-old racer started the race from third position in the race which took place on Sunday, July 12, 2026. However, he managed to drive his bike perfectly so that he could finally win the race.
Ramadhipa revealed after the race that always instilling a strong determination in himself not to lose to his competitors throughout the race was the key to his success on the track.
"From the beginning I have been trying to lead the race directly. I said to myself, if someone overtakes me then I have to overtake him again," said Ramadhipa as quoted from the Red Bull website.
After the start lights went out, the young racer from Sleman immediately sped up and was able to stay in the front row. He initially competed closely with David Gonzalez and Fynn Kratochwill before taking over the front position.
Even though he fell to third place several times, he was still able to rise and maintain his lead until the race entered lap 14. The race was then stopped due to a red flag due to an incident involving Fernando Bujosa and Benat Fernandez.
The Race Director then decided that the final result was determined based on the last position on lap 14 so that Ramadhipa was entitled to lock the highest podium. He was followed by Yaroslav Karpushin on the second podium and Fynn Kratochwill on the third podium.
Ramadhipa admitted that this success was inseparable from the evaluation carried out by the team after Race 1. After finishing fifth in the session, his team made technical changes which then managed to have a significant impact.
"We changed the suspension settings a little bit compared to yesterday, and I think it helped the tire performance. I really miss the feeling of winning again," said Ramadhipa.
The result at the Sachsenring was Ramadhipa's second victory in the 2026 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup. He previously managed to sing the Indonesian Raya song in Race 2 of the Jerez series, Spain, last April.
The additional 25 points from this race brought Ramadhipa to third place in the standings with a collection of 101 points. The top position in the standings is still occupied by Benat Fernandez with 148 points and is followed by Ryota Ogiwara in second place with 131 points.
