Provisional List of Rider Line-up for MotoGP 2027

JAKARTA - The competition map for the 2027 MotoGP racing season is slowly beginning to take shape. A number of Manufacturer and Satellite teams have locked in their rider line-up to welcome the new era of motorbikes with 850 cc engines.

So far seven rider seats have been confirmed. The Ducati Lenovo Team is one of the teams that has moved the fastest by retaining the reigning world champion, Marc Marquez, with a new contract until 2028.

The Borgo Panigale-based manufacturer also recruited Pedro Acosta from KTM to become the new tandem of the seven-time MotoGP champion after deciding to release two-time world champion Francesco "Peco" Bagnaia.

Aprilia is no less aggressive. The Noale-based manufacturer tied Marco Bezzecchi with a multi-year contract before announcing Bagnaia as his teammate. Pecco was contracted for a four-year period.

Yamaha also made a major overhaul. The manufacturer with the fork-tongued logo ended its cooperation with Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins after the 2026 season. They then recruited Jorge Martin (Spain) and Ai Ogura (Japan) with contracts until the end of 2028.

Meanwhile, BK8 Gresini Racing chose to combine experience and young blood. The team owned by Nadia Padovani will bring Joan Mir together with rookie Daniel Holgado who will ride the Ducati Desmosedici GP.

Even though many teams have made changes, there are still many unanswered questions. So, it's still interesting to look forward to what the complete line-up of riders on the grid will be like in the upcoming season.

LCR Honda has just confirmed that Johann Zarco will stay on for the 2027 season. However, one other seat in the team garage owned by Lucio Cecchinello is still empty.

A similar situation occurred at the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team. The team owned by Valentino Rossi has not announced their rider line-up, but it is possible that Fabio Di Giannantonio will leave following the owner's comments after the 2026 Catalunya MotoGP.

The MotoGP Trackhouse is also certain to lose Ogura who has received an offer from Yamaha. However, until now the team from the United States has not announced its replacement.

KTM is still keeping the composition of the riders for the manufacturer team and Tech3. One thing is for sure, Pedro Acosta will no longer wear orange starting from the 2027 season.

Honda HRC Castrol also has not revealed their rider plans. The changes that have been confirmed only occur in the management ranks. Alberto Puig is confirmed to leave the team manager position to become an advisor and his role will be taken over by Mikihiko Kawase.

As for Prima Pramac Yamaha, they have not given any signals regarding the rider line-up next season. Toprak Razgatlioglu did undergo a test of a 850 cc prototype motorcycle based on Pirelli tires after the Czech MotoGP, but there is no indication whether the Turkish rider will be part of the team's project in the 2027 MotoGP.

The incomplete puzzle grid makes the transfer market is expected to still heat up in the next few months as teams complete the composition of the riders for the 2027 season.
