Vega Eda Pratama Finis Kelima dalam Debut Moto3 di GP Thailand

JAKARTA - Indonesian racer Veda Ega Pratama managed to finish in fifth position on his debut in the 2026 Moto3 class after competing fiercely in the podium battle at the Chang International Circuit, Buriram, Thailand, Sunday (1/3/2026).

Veda who is part of the Honda Team Asia was impressive in the opening race of 19 laps. Although he was behind at the start of the race, the young rider from Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta was able to cut the distance and join the leading group since the sixth lap.

Throughout the race, Veda showed consistency in the tight duel of the front group until the last lap. In fact, Veda was able to secure the third position for several laps throughout the race.

Veda Ega, who started from fifth place, finally finished the race in the same position after recording a time difference of 9.687 seconds from the winner. He got 11 points from the results of the opening race of the season.

Even though he hasn't managed to secure the top three positions when he touched the finish line, this fifth position is a strong signal of Veda's potential in the Moto3 season.

In the race, David Almansa (Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP) came out as the winner after recording a time of 32 minutes 14.186 seconds. Maximo Quiles (CFMOTO Aspar Team) finished second only 0.003 seconds behind the winner, while Valentin Perrone (Red Bull KTM Tech3) completed the podium in third place with a gap of 9.480 seconds.

After completing the opening series in Thailand, the Moto3 riders will undergo a short break before returning to compete in the second round in Brazil on March 20-22. The series is scheduled to take place 24 rounds at the Autódromo Internacional de Goiania, Ayrton Senna.
