"Delete Video or Don't Go on the Podium": Jerni Maswara's Bitter Story Behind the SEA Games Bronze Medal.

JAKARTA - Kickboxing athlete Andi Mesyara Jerni Maswara revealed an unpleasant experience while defending the Indonesian contingent at the 2025 Thailand SEA Games. He admitted that he had been intimidated by the Indonesian NOC representatives ahead of the ceremony for the 50 kilogram women's class medal, Tuesday, December 16, at Assumption University, Suvarnabhumi Campus, Samut Prakan, Thailand.

Jerni said he was asked to delete the video upload on social media if he wanted to get on the podium.

"(Representatives) NOC intimidated me, to take down the video that I viralized with the excuse that it could damage the reputation of the WAKO ASIA Asian Kickboxing Confederation (AKC). So they banned me from going up on the podium if I didn't take down my video on Instagram," said Jerni, quoted Sunday, December 21.

Previously, Jerni uploaded a video containing disappointment with the treatment of the judges and match officials when he competed in the 2025 SEA Games. He finally deleted the video and made a clarification and apology to the AKC.

Even though he received a bronze medal, Jerni admitted that he was still disappointed with the treatment he had experienced. He regretted the actions of the Indonesian NOC representatives who he said covered up the cheating of the judges and the losses of Indonesian athletes.

"In fact, the purpose of the video is for the future, how to hope that there will be no more cheating. However, they want to try to cover it up and that is very unfortunate," he said.

Jerni emphasized his courage to reveal this incident because he had a number of eyewitnesses, including local match officials, team interpreters, and the Indonesian kickboxing coaching team.

He also highlighted the lack of support from the Indonesian NOC during the kickboxing event. In fact, Jerni received sympathy from the host committee regarding the intimidation he experienced.
