JAKARTA - The AETI Aquabike Indonesian Championship Final Round 2025 Cup will be completed on December 5-7, 2025 on Belitung Island. The presence of this activity confirms Indonesia's potential as a new force in Asian-level water sports.

The event which took place in Tanjung Tinggi displayed increasingly mature implementation standards, ranging from the readiness of the venue to the enthusiasm of the local community.

The General Chairperson of AETI, Harwendro Aditya Dewanto, assessed that the implementation in Belitung was an important momentum for the development of national aquabike.

"Gempita Belitong shows that the potential for water sports in Indonesia is enormous. With regional support and enthusiasm from the community, Indonesia is very likely to host more Asian-scale competitions in the future," he said in a statement quoted on Thursday, December 11, 2025.

Belitung's geographical advantage, which is surrounded by beaches and calm waters, makes this area considered ideal for water sports.

The strong appearance of venues and various competition classes also have a positive impression on the regional aquabike community. This event is even referred to as an opportunity for Belitung to be included in the Asian competition calendar in the years to come.

During the three days of implementation, around 30 thousand visitors were recorded to be present in the Tanjung Tinggi area. The increase in MSME transactions reached hundreds of millions of rupiah, while hotel occupancy rates in Tanjung Tinggi and Tanjung Pandan increased sharply.

Data on flight arrivals to H.A.S. Hanandjoeddin Airport also shows a surge in tourists that weekend.

The Regent of Belitung, Djoni Alamsyah, said that the economic impact of this sporting event was felt by the community.

"MSMEs rise, hotels are full, and tourists packed with Belitung. Local governments certainly really support activities like this because the benefits are felt directly by residents," he said.

In addition, dozens of local workers are involved in event operations, such as waste management, transportation, hospitality, and security. This activity shows the contribution of sport tourism in creating new jobs.

The success of this aquabike event cannot be separated from the cooperation between the Belitung Regional Government and Nadi Creative as the organizer.

The founder of Nadi Creative, Neo Robby, assessed that Gempita Belitong had proven Belitung's readiness as the location for a large event.

"Gempita Belitong is not just a festival or water sports competition, but evidence that Belitung is ready to host a large-scale event," he said.

With these positive achievements, Gempita Belitong is expected to become an annual agenda that not only strengthens the promotion of Belitung tourism, but also increases Indonesia's prestige in the map of international water competitions.
