Alexander Zwiers Ensures PSSI Roadmap Will Be Completed In 2026

PSSI Technical Director, Alexander Zwiers, revealed that the Raodmap or PSSI roadmap will be completely completed in 2026. He said it took longer because it was still in the stage of studying the dynamics of football in Indonesia.

"Until now I am still learning about Indonesian football. We are still in the process of making long-term strategies."

"The existing Roadmap will be studied, but it must be updated based on the observations we have made and will issue a complete roadmap in 2026 so you can see how the roadmap is," said Alexander Zwiers during a press conference at the GBK Arena, Jakarta, Thursday, November 20, 2025.

Previously, there were three pages of PSSI roadmap circulating on social media. In the document, it is explained about the roadmap for the Indonesian national team until 2030.

From there, it was also known that the Indonesian national team was targeted to qualify for the 2030 World Cup. However, before that, the Garuda Squad was expected to increase from year to year.

In 2026, for example, the Indonesian national team is targeted to reach the 110th place in the world. Then, the following year, the Red and White Team is projected to qualify for the 2027 Asian Cup quarter-finals as well as break into the top 100 FIFA rankings.

Then, in 2028 and 2029, the Indonesian national team will be nurtured so that they can be better prepared for the 2030 World Cup Qualification.

Regarding the information circulating, Zwiers was reluctant to talk much. He only emphasized that currently PSSI is trying to complete the roadmap document before it is later released to the public.

"We are still in the process, there are already roadmaps that we are studying and must be updated with what we have gone through now," said Zwiers.
