Indonesian Swimming Team Brings Home 12 Medals From ISG 2025

The Indonesian swimming team when appearing at the Islamic Solidarity Games (ISG) 2025 (doc. NOC Indonesia).

JAKARTA The Indonesian swimming team closed their struggle at the 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games (ISG) with a total of 12 medals. All athletes who went there contributed to this achievement.

Indonesia managed to get an additional three bronze medals on the last day of swimming (sports) competition. Overall, the Indonesian swimming team secured one gold, five silver, and six bronze.

This achievement surpassed the previous edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games at Konya 2022. At that time, the Indonesian swimming team brought home two silver medals and 12 bronze medals.

Albert C. Sutanto as the head of Indonesia's swimming coach said that this result became a valuable evaluation material ahead of the next big event, including the 2025 SEA Games next month which will be held in Thailand.

"When viewed from the initial target, we really want to maintain even beyond the previous Islamic Solidarity Games results," Albert said in a statement received.

Albert, who is a swimmer at Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004, added that the athlete's struggle was not easy during his appearance at the Islamic Solidarity Games 2025.

They struggled against weather conditions which made the physical condition of some athletes decrease and even hurt.

"Many are not fit, like Joe (Aditya Wijaya), Farrell (Armandio Tangkas), and Jason (Donovan Yusuf) who had fever and inflammation, but they still struggled to the fullest," he said.

Indonesia is currently ranked 10th in the 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games medal standings with a collection of four gold, 12 silver and seven bronze medals.
