Korea Masters 2025: Ubed Pulang In Quarter Finals

JAKARTA Mohammad Zaki Ubaidillah's men's singles journey or Ubed at the 2025 Korea Masters ended in the quarter-finals. He lifted the suitcase after losing to Shogo Ogawa from Japan.

The owner of the 2025 Asian Junior Championships recognized his opponent in the two straight games 19-21 and 18-21 at Wonkwang University Cultural and Sports Center on Friday, November 7, 2025.

"Earlier, I had taken the lead in the first game, but in terms of focus and my mind was a bit slack so that it was followed and the opponent believed he was starting to rise," said Ubed in a statement.

Ubed was actually in a very good position in the first game. He went through a tight match at the start of the game to lead by a three-point difference at the interval.

The badminton player who was born in Madura was then dominant and was not overtaken until he was 19-16. However, his opponent managed to get up and score five consecutive points.

At the beginning of the second game, Ubed immediately lost two points and was under pressure more. Even though he continued to rise up after the opponent, he only won twice in the game.

"The advantage of today's opponent played neatly, rarely died alone and the defense was tight so it was difficult to penetrate and I became a bit shaky," said the badminton player assisted by PB Djarum.

Ubed's defeat also ensured that the Indonesian men's singles in this tournament ended. Before him, Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo and Yohanes Saut Marcellyno had already been eliminated.

"It's not the result I expected, but quite happy to be able to advance to the quarter-finals in this BWF Super 300," said the 18-year-old badminton player.

In addition to men's singles, Indonesian representatives in mixed doubles and women's doubles have also sold out. Women's doubles dropped three representatives, while only one mixed doubles.
