Korea Masters 2025: Indonesian Men's Singles Only Ubed

Mohammad Zaki Ubaidillah continued his journey to the quarter-finals of the Korea Masters 2025 (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA Mohammad Zaki Ubaidillah or Ubed is the only Indonesian men's singles left at the 2025 Korea Masters after Yohanes Saut Marcellyno was confirmed to have been eliminated from the tournament.

Ubaidillah or Ubed qualified for the quarter-finals of the BWF Super 300 level event after winning over Viren Nettasisinghe (Sri Lanka) with the final score 21-16, 16-21, and 21-14 on Thursday, November 6, 2025.

"First, I want to say thank God I have been given a victory and smoothness for today's match," said Ubed after the match.

Ubed underwent the first game which was so tight that even though he led most of it. He was left behind 1-2, but continued to excel after that even though the points were tight.

Ubed's second game was already 10-7 up, but lost momentum. He missed six points in a row after that and never turned ahead again.

"I'm definitely happy to be in the last eight at the Super 300 BWF level. I'm not satisfied because I'm still there tomorrow and I have to be even more prepared," said Ubed.

In the quarter-finals tomorrow, November 7, 2025, Ubed will face Japan's representative, Shogo Ogawa, who secured tickets without competing because his opponent Brian Yang (Canada) resigned.

Meanwhile, Saut was eliminated from the tournament after losing to the first seed Jia Heng Jason The (Singapore) in a duel of two straight games 19-21 and 12-21.

"The opponent has a good attack, the strategy to get the points is also good. I have to anticipate this more in the future."

"In the future, I have to fix it again in terms of finishing, earlier there should be a ball that can be turned off but not dead," said Saut.
