Achraf Hakimi Leaves Field While Crying After Luis Diaz's Hard Drop

Achraf Hakimi suffered serious injuries when PSG hosted Bayern Munich in the Champions League (Instagram/@psg).

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) defender Achraf Hakimi was assisted to leave the field while crying after his ankle was sprained by a hard tackle from Bayern Munich player Luis Diaz, on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, early morning WIB, at the Parc des Princes.

Diaz has scored twice for Bayern Munich in the first half of the Champions League game before making a hard tackle against Hakimi that saw the Colombian player receive a red card right after a VAR review.

Bayern Munich then won the match 2-1 and moved up to first place in the Champions League standings.

Hakimi then left the field crying and was unable to press his left leg after spraining his ankle due to Diaz's two-leg tackle.

"I hope Hakimi recovers quickly. We know how it feels to have an injured player like (Jamal) Musiala (injury against PSG in the 2025 Club World Cup)."

"This can happen in a match with this intensity," said Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany, after the match.

Not only Hakimi, at the beginning of the first half, Ousmane Dembele was already withdrawn after scoring the opener. When the goal was checked by VAR, the French player looked uncomfortable.

The goal was ruled out for offside, maintaining Bayern Munich's 1-0 lead at the time.

Dembele was then replaced by Lee Kang-in before going straight to the dressing room through the tunnel.

When asked about the two players after the game, PSG manager Luis Enrique didn't want to talk much before the exact test results.

"I don't know, we have to wait for the test results tomorrow. The injuries of the two players. Hakimi, this is football, contact sports, it's a shame," Enrique said after the match.

Dembele has been out for six weeks from early September 2025 until returning to play on October 20, 2025 due to a hamstring injury he sustained while defending France in a 2-0 win against Ukraine in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.

It is not certain when Dembele will be injured again. Luis Enrique gave assurances the night before the match against Bayern Munich that Dembele was fit to play.

Meanwhile, PSG was also not strengthened by striker Desire Doue due to a right thigh injury in the Champions League match.
