JAKARTA - FIFA has officially announced its rejection of the appeal filed by the Malaysian Football Federation (FAM). The appeal was filed regarding the forgery of naturalized players.
"After analyzing the appeal and hearing, the Appeal Committee decided to reject the appeal," the FIFA Appeal Committee was quoted as saying on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
Not only refusing, the FIFA Appeal Committee also confirmed the sentences to FAM and seven naturalized players who were deemed to have falsified documents without changing.

The rejection of the appeal was decided because the birthplace of the seven players was declared different.
FAM claims the location was born in Malaysian territory, while based on FIFA documents, its birthplaces are spread across Spain, Argentina, Brazil, and the Netherlands.
From the latest decision, FIFA also fined 350 thousand Swiss francs (equivalent to Rp7.3 billion) for FAMs deemed guilty in carrying out naturalization processes outside the regulations.
"FAM and the players have been informed of the provisions of the decision today."

Previously, FIFA sentenced seven Malaysian national team naturalized players to a fine of 2,000 Swiss francs (equivalent to Rp41.8 million) and a ban on playing 12 months.
The seven players convicted were Gabriel Felipe Arrocha, Facundo Tomas Garces, Rodrigo Julian Holgado, Imanol Javier Machuca, Joao Vitor Brandao Figueiredo, Jon Irazabal Iraurgui, and Hector Alejandro Hevel Serrano.
