JAKARTA - Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Erick Thohir, officially released the Indonesian contingent for the 2025 Asian Youth Games (AYG) and Islamic Solidarity Games (ISG).
The ceremony for the release of the Indonesian delegation took place at the Wisma of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora), Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday, October 17, 2025, evening WIB.
"I reported to the President that today we have released athletes. The President sends greetings to all those who will depart and keep the name of the Indonesian nation," said Erick.
The Indonesian contingent for the 2025 Asian Youth Games is 123 athletes and 51 coaches. They will compete in 21 sports (sports) out of a total of 26 sports competed.

Chairman of the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI/NOC Indonesia), Raja Sapta Oktohari, said that these two events will be used as diplomacy, especially the appearance of pencak silat sports.

This year's Asian Youth Games is the third edition since it was first held in 2009. In the last 2013 edition in China, Indonesia secured five medals (one gold, two silver, and two bronze).
Meanwhile, the Islamic Solidarity Games 2025 is the sixth edition since it started in 2005. Indonesia was once the host in the 2013 edition which took place in Palembang.
