Marc Klok Determined To Make History In The Indonesian National Team

Marc Klok has ambitions to bring the Indonesian national team to the 2026 World Cup (VOI/Karisa Aurelia Tukan).

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team player, Marc Klok, expressed his determination to make history while helping the Garuda squad hunt for tickets to the 2026 World Cup finals.

For this determination, Marc Klok is even ready to give all his best against Saudi Arabia and Iraq on October 9 and 12, 2025. The agenda is the Fourth Round of Qualification for the 2026 World Cup which is an opportunity for the Garuda Squad.

"We have to be optimistic, work hard, and hopefully we can create this history now in the next week. We try to do our best," said Marc Klok, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

In the Fourth Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification, the Indonesian national team is in Group B. Later only group winners are entitled to automatic tickets to the 2026 World Cup finals.

If you fail to seal the group title, only runners-up still have an open opportunity. However, the journey will be longer because it has to pass the Fifth Round of 2026 World Cup Qualifiers, before competing in the intercontinental playoffs.

Seeing this situation, Klok hopes that prayers and support from all elements of Indonesian society so that the Red and White Team can move smoothly into the main round of the 2026 World Cup.

"This is certainly a big challenge to qualify for the World Cup (2026) and of course we all hope," said Klok.

In preparation, Patrick Kluivert as coach of the Indonesian national team has summoned 29 players to play two crucial matches for the 2026 World Cup Qualification in the Asian Zone. Marc Klok is one of them.

Apart from Klok, three other Persib Bandung players, namely Beckham Putra Nugraha, Thom Haye, and Eliano Reijnders, also received a call to defend the Indonesian national team.
