Japanese MotoGP FP1 Results 2025: Bagnaia Fastest, Beat Martin

Francesco Bagnaia managed to become the fastest in the 2025 Japanese MotoGP FP1 (Instagram/@ducatisse).

JAKARTA Ducati Lenovo Team racer Francesco Bagnaia came out as the fastest in Japan's 2025 First Free Practice or Free Practice 1 (FP1) MotoGP.

The rider, who is familiarly called Pecco, finished this session with a time of one minute 44.857 seconds or 0.093 seconds ahead of defending champion Jorge Martin in Twin Ring Motegi, on Friday, September 26, 2025.

Meanwhile, the third position is occupied by the world champion candidate, Marc Marquez. The leader of the standings is 0.102 seconds adrift of his team-mate, Bagnaia.

Good results were also obtained by Fabio Di Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) who was fourth. He was followed by Luca Marini (Honda HRC Castrol).

Franco Morbidelli (Pertamina Enduro VR46) despite an accident can still secure the sixth position. He was in front of Polesitter Motegi last season, Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing).

Jack Miller (Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP) also had an accident. However, Miller completed the FP1 session in eighth place.

Rookie Somkiat Chantra (Idemitsu Honda LCR) followed in ninth place. The Thai racer outperformed Miguel Oliveira who managed to complete the top 10 positions.

Japan's MotoGP race is a great opportunity for Marc Marquez to secure the title this year. He just needs to increase the additional three-point advantage over his younger brother Alex Marquez to seal the title.

Marquez currently collects 512 points or leads as many as 182 points from his younger brother. So, he needs to leave Motegi with an 185 points advantage to win the seventh world title in MotoGP.
