2025 MotoGP Standings: Marc Marquez Can Win In Japan

JAKARTA The 2025 MotoGP just finished the Catalunya Grand Prix last weekend. Marc Marquez remained comfortable at the top of the standings even though he failed to win.

The Catalunya top race took place on Sunday, September 7, 2025. Marquez finished in the second position, behind his younger brother, Alex Marquez, and was followed by Enea Bastianini in third place.

Taking second place made Marquez now collect 487 points in the standings. He is 182 points ahead of Alex's younger brother who lives in second place.

The failure to finish in first place has prevented Marquez from locking up the title in San Marino next week. He should have scored a difference of 185 points to keep that chance.

Although he has not been able to secure the title in San Marino, Marquez's chances of becoming a world champion are already difficult to stop. He can confirm the world champion this season in MotoGP Japan on 28 September 2025.

Marquez automatically becomes the world champion if he has a difference of 185 points after the Japanese MotoGP at the Motegi Twin Ring Circuit. This opportunity is very open for the racer nicknamed The Baby Alien.

This season's world title is the seventh in Marquez's career in the MotoGP racing arena. This number automatically matches the record of his rival, Valentino Rossi, who also won seven times in MotoGP.

Marquez last won MotoGP in 2019 before entering a difficult period. He then got up last season with the Ducati Satellite team, Gresini Racing, and reached the peak of this season in the factory team.

This season Marquez has secured a total of the first 10 podiums. He even won seven consecutive times before his dominance was stopped by Alex at the Catalunya MotoGP.
