Parma Vs Atalanta Prediction: Scamacca Back Sharp, Host Threatened To Become Victim

JAKARTA - Parma and Atalanta BC both hunted for their first win in Serie A for the 2025/2026 season during a clash at Stadio Ennio Tardini, Saturday night, August 30 local time.

Parma came to this match after losing 0-2 to Juventus in the opening week. Meanwhile, Atalanta had to settle for a 1-1 draw at home against the Pisa promotion team.

Three months ago, Parma made sure to stay in Serie A with a dramatic 3-2 win over Atalanta in last season's giornata. However, the situation is now different. Cristian Chivu has left for Inter Milan and the coaching position is now filled by Carlos Cuesta, Arsenal's 30-year-old former assistant.

Cuesta's debut in Turin did not go sweet last week. Despite appearing brave, Parma came home empty-handed after losing to Juve. It made the match against Atalanta an important opportunity to at least get the first point.

Unfortunately, Parma's front line is limping. New striker Matija Frigan suffered a ligament injury (ACL), while Patrick Cutrone has not been officially brought in from Como. As a result, Mateo Pellegrino, who had scored two goals against Pescara in Coppa Italia, is predicted to be the focus again.

Parma himself still has a pretty fresh home record: a 2-0 win over Pescara in the Coppa Italia before the League starts. But the real test came tonight.

Atalanta is also adapting. After nine years led by Gian Piero Gasperini who successfully brought La Dea to the Champions League five times in the last seven seasons, the baton is now held by Ivan Juric.

Juric clearly had a heavy burden, especially this summer Atalanta lost their goal machine, Mateo Retegui, and still had to face the drama transfer of Ademola Lookman who insisted on leaving.

Even so, there is a bit of good news. Gianluca Scamacca finally scored again after a long absence from injury, saving Atalanta from the defeat against Pisa. In addition, key midfielder Ederson is reportedly ready to appear after last week's absence due to fitness problems.

Juric still has to lose Sead Kolasinac and of course Lookman is absent due to the transfer situation. But Atalanta still has options up front with Scamacca and new signing Nikola Krstovic, who last season often troubled Parma.

Record sided with Atalanta. They won seven of the last eight meetings in Serie A against Parma, and have won four times in a row when they played in Tardini. However, Parma was confident after overthrowing La Dea 3-2 last May.

With Atalanta having a flashy away record (seven wins from the last eight games outside of Bergamo), their chances of stealing full points at Tardini are quite large. Parma is likely to put up a fight, but Atalanta's experience and quality attack line is expected to be a differentiator.
