Indonesia Departs For Paris, Ready To Fight In The 2025 World Championship

The Indonesian badminton team departed for Paris, France, to face the 2025 Badminton World Championship (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA The Indonesian badminton team departed for Paris, France, to be ready to fight in the 2025 Badminton World Championship or the 2025 BWF World Championship which will take place at the beginning of tomorrow.

The Red-White Squad departed there via Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Jakarta, on Friday, August 22, 2025, morning WIB. They left to bring the atmosphere of the 80th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.

Eng Hian, Head of Development and Achievement Division (Head of Binpres) Pelatnas PBSI who is also the head of the group to Paris, said that all the departing players brought excellent conditions.

"Seeing the athletes' preparations, they follow the training program well and the progress of the training is quite good."

"I think with this good preparation, the athletes are expected to be ready to show their best on the field," he said.

Indonesia brought as many as 12 representatives to the prestigious badminton event. PBSI also set a target to bring home one title from there.

Eng Hian said that Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and colleagues only had two days to adjust the field, time difference, and aclimitization, before fighting.

"Certainly maintaining a diet and regulating the rest pattern again because there will be adjustments again after arriving in Paris."

"We are also accompanied by a support team who are ready to help and handle if there are obstacles," he said.

The BWF World Championships 2025 will take place on August 25-31, 2025 at the Adidas Arena. This is the holding of the 29th edition since it first started in 1977.

Indonesia last brought home a gold medal from there in the 2019 edition through the men's doubles Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan. Three editions after that, Indonesia only brought home two silver medals.

One of the silver medals was obtained by Hendra/Ahsan in the 2022 edition. The other silver medals were secured by the pair Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti in the 2023 edition.
