After The 2025 Independence Cup, The U-17 Indonesian National Team Stepped On The Gas To Bulgaria

The U-17 Indonesian national team will continue the training camp in Bulgaria (doc. Indonesian national team).

JAKARTA - The U-17 Indonesian national team managed to win the runner-up title in the 2025 Independence Cup. After that title, the Garuda Muda squad went straight to Bulgaria to continue the training camp (TC).

Nova Arianto as the coach emphasized that the TC in Bulgaria will be held from September 1 to 14, 2025.

Garuda Muda will conduct a trial against the three countries there, the same number as in the 2025 Independence Cup when Indonesia U-17 against Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Mali.

"Certainly the promotion and relegation (player) system will continue. Including after this we will conduct a training camp (TC) in Bulgaria from September 1-14, 2025," Nova said as quoted by Antara on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

In the 2025 Independence Cup, the U-17 Indonesian national team was strengthened by 30 players, two of whom were new diaspora players, namely Elzar Jacob and Noha Pohan.

From the agenda in Bulgaria later, Nova hopes that his team can try at least three new diaspora, namely Lucas Lee, Nicholas Indra, and Mike Rajasa.

"I can see if the composition of this team is strong or not. However, there are indeed many other player options, including diaspora players, we'll see. I hope they can go to Bulgaria later," said the coach.

Nova also said that this long training camp was to make the team's strength more solid ahead of the 2025 U-17 World Cup.

At the 2025 U-17 World Cup which was played in Qatar, November 2025, Young Garuda joined in Group H with Brazil, Zambia, and Honduras.

"Including the preparations that we are planning to plan in Yogyakarta before entering Dubai, before shifting to Qatar. So, everything can go well. Including some new players we will try so that this team can be more solid in the 2025 U-17 World Cup," he said.
