PSIM's First Home Match Against Arema FC, Brajamusti Forced To Reject Aremania

Arema FC visited PSIM Yogyakarta's headquarters in the 2025/2026 Super League match in Bantul without receiving support from Aremania. Arema FC fanatical supporters had to be rejected by Brajamusti, PSIM supporters, to come to Bantul in a duel at Sultan Agung Stadium, Saturday, August 16, 2025.

The competition in the Super League still does not allow guests to come to support their favorite team. The regulation was obeyed by Brajamusti and Maident, PSIM supporters, when they played their first match at Persebaya Surabaya.

This will also be applied to Arema supporters in duels in Bantul. In addition to the rules from FIFA, the capacity of the stadium is also not enough to accommodate opposing supporters and follow directions from the Bantul Police.

The reason is, the stadium is definitely filled with PSIM supporters who will play the first home match in this highest caste competition.

"In this home game, we reject the presence of Aremania supporters. This decision was taken due to limited stadium capacity and following the direction of the Bantul Police," said President Brajamusti, Muslich 'Thole' Burhanudin in Yogyakarta, Thursday, August 14, 2025.

"Apart from that for our own laskar, the capacity is still lacking. We apologize to the visitors for this inconvenience," said Thole.

PSIM itself is aiming for a second victory when playing at home. Laskar Mataram made an impressive start by defeating Persebaya 1-0. The victory in the inaugural match of the competition was even more meaningful because Jean-Paul Van Gastel's team won at home.

However, PSIM still has to ground and not be complacent with a brilliant victory when hosting Singo Edan. Like Persebaya, Arema is a seasoned team in the Super League.

In addition, supporters still have to maintain conduciveness when PSIM plays at SSA Bantul. Burhanudin stated that Brajamusti had carried out internal consolidation with all laskar in it. They are committed to keeping the atmosphere comfortable, safe before, during and after the match.

Burhanudin expressed his appreciation for the support of various parties who allowed the use of SSA as a PSIM home. According to him, this means a lot to PSIM, who had difficulty getting a homebase while navigating the league.

"We would like to thank the Bantul Dispora, Bantul Regency Government and Bantul Police for allowing PSIM to use SSA. We have also coordinated internally with all laskar to maintain order before, during, and after matches, both inside the stadium and on the way," he said.

Thole emphasized that criminal acts such as the use of liquor and narcotics will not be tolerated. If there is a violation, the police will act decisively and the responsibility will be imposed on the individual concerned.

"Brajamusti also appealed not to use exhaust exhaust which will be prosecuted according to applicable law," he said.

"This is our commitment to the police who have given permission for matches with the audience, and we hope our supporters obey it," said Thole.

Responding to the very limited capacity of the stadium, Thole said that if Brajamusti understood and accepted the decision. According to him, Brajamusti will support it by maintaining conduciveness at every opportunity.

"Maybe this is the best decision. We are committed to keeping the situation conducive so that in the future we can get additional quotas," he said.

Regarding the relationship with PSS Sleman supporters, Brajamusti emphasized that she would continue to maintain a good friendship. On the other hand, all elements of PSIM supporters also expressed their gratitude to Bantul supporters who welcomed PSIM positively based in Bantul.

"We also remain committed to forming brotherhood with friends in Sleman. After all, they are our brothers. They actually don't mind PSIM playing in Maguwoharjo," he said.

"Therefore, we maintain good relations, who knows that in the future there will be opportunities to use the stadium in Sleman. On the other hand, we thank the supporters in Bantul who received the PSIM," said Thole.
