Austrian MotoGP 2025, Opportunities For Marquez To End The Curse

JAKARTA The 2025 MotoGP race will continue this weekend in Austria. This is a golden opportunity for Marc Marquez to end the curse of never winning there.

The Austrian MotoGP will take place on 15-17 August 2025 above the Red Bull Ring Circuit track. This is the 13th series race in the 2025 season calendar.

Marquez currently leads the standings with a collection of 381 points. He is 120 ahead of his younger brother Alex Marquez in second place and 168 points from Francesco Bagnaia in third.

The Spaniard and six-time MotoGP world champion have recorded eight Grand Prix wins and 11 Sprint Race wins from 12 series that have been going on.

However, Marquez has not won a race in the Red Bull Ring since the circuit again held the most prestigious motorcycle race in 2016.

The Red Bull Ring is one of four circuits in the current racing calendar that Marquez has never conquered in his career at the Grand Prix.

Marquez almost finished first in the 2017, 2018, and 2019 editions after battling former Ducati drivers Andrea Dovizioso and Jorge Lorenzo. However, he ended up in second place.

The rider's attempt nicknamed The Baby Alien to end the curse at the Red Bull Ring will certainly not be easy. The reason is, his teammate Francesco Bagnaia won in the last three editions.

Bagnaia is not yet in the best form of the season with the Ducati GP25 motorbike, especially the braking problem. However, the two-time world champion could harbor the dreams of his colleague.
