Manchester United Prepares For Revenge In The 2025/2026 Season

Manchester United defender Leny Yoro said his team was ready for revenge after the club's worst season in more than 50 years.

Manchester United finished in 15th place in the 2024/2025 Premier League which was their lowest achievement in the highest-level league since relegation to second division in 1974.

Ruben Amorim's team enjoyed the US pre-season tour which was quite positive with two wins and one draw against West Ham, Bournemouth, and Everton.

The players and staff have now returned to Manchester to undergo their final preparations before the start of the new Premier League season.

Ahead of Arsenal's visit to Old Trafford on August 17, 2025, Yoro confirmed this season would be different from last year's disappointing season.

"When you play for Manchester United, you have to have a mindset to be the best version of yourself."

"I think what we did last season was a mistake for us. As Manchester United, you can't be in this position."

"The fans know that, everyone knows that. I think we understand this. This season will be different for us. It will be like revenge from last season. We have to do better," said Yoro.

After spending more than 130 million pounds to sign Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo this summer, plus 74 million pounds on signing Benjamin Sesko, the Red Devils are under pressure to start the season well.

Yoro said he believed there would be criticism that hoped Manchester United would have difficulties again, but the French player had supported the squad to reduce noise from outside and have a successful season.

"We are a big club. There are many people who want us to fail and we know that. However, there are also many people who want us to do, to do great things."

"We're just focused on the fans, you know. We don't care about what they say outside, about the media."

"However, I understand because we didn't play well. This season will be different, I hope so. We don't need to listen to this and just focus on ourselves," said Yoro.
