Mohamed Salah Challenges Liverpool's New Player: We Won The Premier League

JAKARTA - Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah challenges a new player to show his abilities at Anfield. Because Florian Wirtz et al joined the club that won the English Premier League title.

Liverpool won the league title convincingly. They successfully sealed the Premier League title when the competition left four more matches. This is Liverpool's 20th title while equaling Manchester United's brilliant record.

After winning the league title, Liverpool then jor-joran bought players. The club recruited Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen whose purchases broke Liverpool's record transfer. It didn't stop there, Wirtz's colleague at Leverkusen, Jeremie Frimpong, also joined.

Furthermore, Liverpool recruited Milos Kerkez and Hugo Ekitike and Giorgi Mamardashvili who had already joined. The six-time Champions League champions, in total, have spent 400 million euros to buy players.

However, Liverpool also released two pillar players. Winger Luis Diaz moved to Bayern Munich and striker Darwin Nunez joined Al Hilal.

"I just want to remind you that we are the Premier League champions with the existing players like today," Salah was quoted as saying by liverpool.com.

"Then one by one someone comes. They certainly want to achieve something as revealed in the media. But they must also be able to show their quality and give everything for fans," said the Egyptian national team star.

Despite challenging new players, Salah hopes that fans will not burden and have high hopes for them. Moreover, the players have not shown their abilities.

"I don't want fans to expect too much and give them a heavy burden before they show their abilities. The club has recruited the best players. But they still need time to prove it in the game," Salah said.

It's Not Easy To Join Liverpool

Meanwhile, captain Virgil van Dijk said that so far those who have just joined have shown their best abilities. It's just that it's not easy to join a club as big as Liverpool.

"So far, they have shown their abilities. However, frankly it is not easy to join a club like Liverpool and immediately want to show their abilities," said Van Dijk.

"But I believe they are able to complete this team. They played well and I wish them success with us this season. But when they were part of Liverpool, you really were more than just playing football," he said.

Manager Arne Slot also reminded new players that they are not only competing in domestic competitions. However, the players must be ready to appear in the Carabao Cup and FA Cup.

"You'll be playing a lot of games before winning trophies. They could be playing in the Carabao Cup, FA Cup and Premier League itself or the Champions League. You certainly hope to win it at the end of the season," said Slot.
