Jordi Amat Admits He Is Nervous Ahead Of His Debut With Persija In The 2025/2026 Super League

JAKARTA - Naturalized player for the Indonesian national team, Jordi Amat will make his debut with Persija Jakarta in the 2025/2026 Super League on Sunday, August 10. Ahead of his first appearance with the new team, Jordi admitted that he was nervous.

Will meet Persita Tangerang, Jordi Amat actually has qualified capital after a myriad of experience playing in the Spanish League, Premier League, Malaysian League, and in the Indonesian national team.

However, he admitted that he was definitely nervous before the first match.

"I think there will always be nervous feelings before the match. However, this is about how you control that nervousness," said Jordi Amat on the club's official website before the match.

"It's true, we have worked very hard for this moment. So, what we want is a slick performance," he said.

Despite his nervous feelings, Jordi Amat ensured that Persija had trained very hard during pre-season, to be able to compete for the title in the new Super League season.

"It's a very special game for us. It's also the first game for us in the Super League, in front of fans at home, and of course with our families providing support. So, I can't wait to play," he said.

"As the coach (Mauricio Souza) said, the last 4-5 weeks we worked very hard. You can't imagine how much we put our body on, working for a very long time, practicing tactics and gyms. So, this team is ready, focused, and can't wait to start tomorrow's match," continued Jordi Amat.

There will be attractive potential in Persija's match to host Persita, because most likely Jordi Amat, who plays a center-back, could meet the new striker of the Cisadane Warriors team, Hokky Caraka.

Both of them are Indonesian national team players. Therefore, the meeting will become familiar to both of them.

"Tomorrow he (Hokky Caraka) will be my opponent, so we will fight until the end. I think we have all prepared well to win tomorrow," explained Jordi Amat.
