JAKARTA UFC star, Khamzat Chimaev, is pessimistic about receiving an invitation to undergo a fight at the White House which is part of the US President Donald Trump's plan.

Last month, Trump said he plans to host an UFC event at the White House next year as part of the 250th United States anniversary celebration.

Chimaev said that he was very unlikely to be invited to appear at the event even though he had just received a visa to enter the United States again since 2022.

"Look at my face. I don't think so. They (will deport me) to an immigrant camp or something. I am an athlete, a sportsman, throughout my life I practiced."

"Some people put me in a position like political affairs and damaged my visa. I don't know why," he said.

Chimaev had his last fight in the United States when he won a submission to Kevin Holland at UFC 279 in September 2022.

The 31-year-old fighter then underwent his last two matches in Abu Dhabi. He has not received a visa since his last win due to ties with Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov.

Kadyrov was previously sanctioned by the United States for alleged human rights abuses, including repression, torture, and murder.

"I fight and train for my family. Athletes shouldn't be mixed with politics. I'm not connected to that," Chimaev said.

Chimaev returned to the United States and is ready to challenge Dricus Du Plessis for a mid-range title in the UFC 319 clashes on August 16, 2025, at the United Center, Chicago.

This is Chimaev's first appearance on the octagon since beating Robert Whittaker via submission in October 2024. Du Plessis will undergo his third fight in defending the championship belt.
