Alwi Farhan's Reaction After Getting The First Final At The BWF World Tour

JAKARTA - Men's singles badminton player Alwi Farhan hopes that his journey at the Macau Open 2025 will bear fruit after reaching the final of the Super 300 BWF level competition.

The 2023 junior world champion qualified for the final match after stopping second seed Lakshya Sen from India with the final score 21-16 and 21-9 on Saturday, August 2, 2025.

This is the first final of the Surakarta-born badminton player in the BWF World Tour badminton tournament in his career so far.

"Thank God, thank God I was able to play well. I'm happy to be able to first go to the Super 300 final, hopefully tomorrow it can be even more maximal," he said.

This is the third tournament that Alwi has played in three consecutive weeks. He before played at the Japan Open Super 750 and China Open Super 1000.

In the two tournaments before Macau, the 20-year-old badminton player lost in the second half in Japan and then immediately lost in the first half in China.

"The past two weeks in Japan and China, many lessons can be learned, play at the elite level and learn. That's good for me and this is part of the process," he said.

In the final round tomorrow, Alwi will face Justin Hoh from Malaysia. Malaysia's singles qualified for the final party after beating Tharun Mannepalli, who is also from India.

Alwi actually took part with Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo, Yohanes Saut Marcellyno, and Moh. Zaki Ubaidillah in Macau. Unfortunately, the three names had already returned early in the second half.
