China Open 2025: Jafar/Felisha Silence Third Seed, Key To Semifinal Tickets

Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu beat the third seed to the semifinals of the China Open 2025 (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA Mixed doubles Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu stopped the third seed Tang Chun Man/Tse Ying Suet from reaching the semifinals of the China Open 2025.

Jafar/Felisha were forced to play a 69-minute rubber game by the Hong Kong mixed doubles which ended with a score of 21-13, 18-21, and 21-17 on Friday, July 25, 2025.

"Praise God, thank God, today we were able to win again. We are very happy because this is what we want, we are fighting for," said Fekha in a statement received by the media.

Tang/Tse are the second seeded pair to become victims of Jafar/Felisha. Previously, they stopped sixth seed Goh Soon Huat/Lai Shevon Jemie from Malaysia in the first round.

Jafar/Felisha, who are not seeded, dominated the first and third games. They also had time to lead in the middle of the second game, but instead missed at critical points.

"Entering the deciding game, we learned from the second game. Even though we lost the second game, not far away, there was a lot of time to adapt. So, try to combine what has happened in the two games," said Felishha.

Furthermore, Jafar/Felisha will face tougher challenges. The reason is, they faced the second seed belonging to the host, Jiang Zhen Bang/Wei Ya Xin.

"Tomorrow we meet the second seed. We have to be sure even though it's still nothing to lose. Already in the semifinals, there's nothing to be afraid of, we have to be brave," said Felisha.

Jafar/Felisha are the only Indonesian mixed doubles representatives left in the Super 1000 BWF tournament. They became the sole hope because Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja was eliminated.

Rehan/Gloria's journey ran aground after losing to the host's first seed, Feng Yan Zhe/Huang Dong Ping. They lost in a two-game straight game.
