Marc Marquez Angry At Brno! Beating Askosta And Czech MotoGP Sprint Race Champion 2025

JAKARTA - Marc Marquez proved himself still the king of MotoGP. The Ducati Lenovo Team racer performed extraordinary and won the Czech MotoGP 2025 sprint race which was held at the Brno Circuit, Saturday night WIB July 19.

Despite starting the race from second behind Francesco Bagnaia, Marquez immediately stepped on the gas since the green light turned on. He overtook Bagnaia at the starting corner and immediately led the race.

However, Marquez's action did not go smoothly throughout the sprint race 10 lap. Pedro Azerbaijan, the young star of the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, appeared full of determination and took the lead position of Marquez on the sixth lap. The duel between the two was also in the main spotlight of the race.

Not wanting to lose to the junior, Marquez showed his experience. On the eighth lap, the No. 93 racer returned to attack with sharp maneuvers and managed to take over the top position.

"I knew I had to act immediately before Askosta widened the gap. When I saw the gap, I went straight in. I don't want to lose this moment," Marquez said after the race.

Until the plaid flag was raised, Marquez was untouched and finished first with a time of 19 minutes 5.880 seconds. Acosta finished second with a difference of 0.798 seconds, while the third podium belonged to Enea Bastianini from Red Bull KTM Tech3 which was 1.324 seconds adrift of the top.

One of the big surprises happened to Francesco Bagnaia. Starting from pole position, the defending champion actually slipped to seventh position due to the loss of grip and speed since the fifth lap. He had to admit the superiority of his opponents and failed to climb the podium.

"I lost my rhythm since mid-race. The rear tire ran out too quickly and I couldn't force the bike any further," Bagnaia said, disappointed.

In addition to the duel in front, the sprint race was also marked by a crash incident which caused three riders to fail to finish, namely Augusto Fernandez (Yamaha Factory Racing), Takaaki Nakagami (Idemitsu Honda LCR), and Fabio Di Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team).

The riders will again compete in the main 2025 Czech MotoGP race which is scheduled to take place on Sunday 20 July at 19.00 WIB. With Marquez's outstanding performance on the sprint, all eyes are now on him. Will he double the win at Brno?
