Bellingham Will Undergo Operation, Predicted 3 Months Absence For Real Madrid

JAKARTA - Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham will undergo surgery on his left shoulder in London on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, local time.

According to information from ESPN, the England National Team player is expected to be absent for 10 to 12 weeks for Los Blancos.

The 22-year-old has struggled with repeated problems since his first season at Real Madrid.

He experienced a shoulder dislocation in November 2023 during the match against Rayo Vallecano and chose a rehabilitation program that allowed him to continue playing for Los Blancos.

As a result, he failed to fully recover. Bellingham, who has always started in all 2025 Club World Cup matches, explained his decision to undergo surgery after a 3-1 win over Pacuca last month.

"I will undergo surgery after the (2025 Club World Cup) tournament. I'm tired of playing with the buffers, especially in hot weather."

"It would be nice if my old shoulder came back. So, I'm really looking forward to it," Bellingham said.

Bellingham, who joined Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2023, helped the Spanish giants win the La Liga doubles and Champions League titles in his first season.

He scored 15 goals and provided 15 assists in 58 games in all competitions for Los Blancos for the 2024/2025 season.

Real Madrid, under Xabi Alonso's new coach, will start the La Liga match at home against Osasuna on August 19, 2025.

Bellingham is expected to return in early October 2025, but will miss out to eight league games and the start of the Champions League group stage.
