Spain Not Jemawa Is Favorited To Win Euro Women 2025

JAKARTA - Spanish Women's National Team (Timnas) defender Olga Carmona said there was no mention of a favorite word around the team's headquarters in Switzerland when they appeared at Euro Women's 2025.

Spain, world champion, started their campaign in Group B with an impressive 5-0 win over Portugal on Friday, July 4, 2025, early morning WIB.

Many have champions La Roja to win Euro 2025 before the tournament. Performance against Portugal only reinforces that opinion, but Carmona says they ignore external noise.

"In an internal way, we don't mention the word (favor). We just want to continue to win."

"Football is unpredictable and we want to go step by step. We want to start with a win and we do."

"However, we have spoken, we remain grounded. We must not be complacent with Portugal's victory, every team will make it difficult for us."

"We have another challenge tomorrow and we want to overcome it," said the Paris Saint-Germain left-back.

Spain have now won their last six games in all competitions, recovering from the difficult times taking place from the 2024 Olympics to the start of this year.

During that difficult period, they only won three of their eight matches. However, Carmona said a new focus on pressure helped them turn things around.

"There was a game when we should have pressed better after losing the ball."

Spain coach Montse Tome has the same opinion as Carmona, showing that one win means nothing at this stage.
