Daniel Dubois And Oleksandr Usyk Start Combat Negotiations

Daniel Dubois began discussing potential fights with Oleksandr Usyk (Instagram/@dynamite_daniel_dubois).

JAKARTA - Daniel Dubois and Oleksandr Usyk are currently negotiating to regulate the undisputed fight for world heavyweight champions.

The latest report from BBC Sport states that the two will board the ring at Wembley Stadium, London, England, on July 12, 2025. However, options for clashes in the Middle East are likely open.

The two heavyweight champions who will compete are recorded holding the four main world titles. Dubois as the current IBF and Usyk champions are the WBA (Super), WBO, and WBC belt holders.

Usyk, who is currently 38 years old, is unbeaten in 23 fights and has won over Dubois. The win came in August 2023 or before two straight wins against Tyson Fury.

So, apart from fighting for the undisputed heavyweight world title, their rematch automatically gave Dubois the 27-year-old a chance to take revenge.

Dubois has won three games since suffering defeat against Usyk. The three wins, all of which were knockout, were won over Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic, and Anthony Joshua in a row.

If the fight against Uysk had not occurred, Dubois would have been ordered by IBF to fight veteran boxer, Derek Chisora, who is currently 41 years old and has climbed the ring 49 times.

Meanwhile, Usyk is eager to fight for the world title undisputed for the second time before retiring. He previously held the status after defeating Fury in May 2024.

However, the Ukrainian fighter was then marketed to empty his IBF belt before his rematch with Tyson Fury in December 2024, which he won again.

Usyk, who is also the undisputed champion in cruiserweight, has hinted he will retire after two more fights. So, there is a possibility he will fight Dubois twice.

Dubois was previously scheduled to defend the IBF belt against Joseph Parker in February 2025. However, it was painful to force him to resign ahead of the match.

No British fighter has yet held an undisputed heavyweight title in the era of four belts. The last British boxer to become the undisputed heavyweight champion was Lennox Lewis in 1999.
