Rizky Ridho's Answer About Kans Replaces Mees Hilgers In The Indonesian National Team

Rizky Ridho has the opportunity to replace Mees Hilgers' place when the Indonesian national team against Bahrain (doc. PSSI).

JAKARTA - Rizky Ridho became a strong candidate to replace Mees Hilgers during the Indonesian national team match against Bahrain in the eighth match of Group C of the Third Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification, Tuesday, March 25, 2025, WIB night.

In this regard, the defender is making sure that he will try to give his best if trusted by coach Patrick Kluiver.

Kans Rizky Ridho appeared after Mees Hilgers was injured while defending the Garuda Squad against Australia.

After being injured in Thursday's match, March 20, 2025, Mees Hilgers returned to Jakarta and underwent a series of medical examinations with the assistance of the Indonesian national team of doctors.

In its development, Hilgers was declared unable to strengthen the Garuda Team when they hosted Bahrain at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

This situation also made Hilgers immediately return to the Netherlands for further examination and recovery with his club's medical team, FC Twenty.

Apart from Mees who was absent due to injury, the condition of the other Garuda Squad was ready. According to Ridho, the players have forgotten their disappointment over the 1-5 defeat at the Australian headquarters and are now focused on securing the victory against Bahrain.

"Of course, after the defeat (in Australia), we were disappointed with the result. We evaluated it, it should not be too late with disappointment because we have an important game too and play at home. So, we have to win," said Ridho.

The Indonesian national team match against Bahrain, which will be led by a referee from Tajikistan, Sadullo Gulmurodi. Ridho did not want to comment much on the referee, and chose to focus on his own team.

"For referees, we cannot control. The most important thing is that we have to prepare better than Bahrain. We have to win the match," he said.

Three points against Bahrain became crucial in order to keep the Indonesian national team's hopes of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.

The Red-White Team currently occupies fourth place in Group C standings in the Third Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers with a collection of six points.
