JAKARTA The Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) or NOC Indonesia has participated in the first bidding to host a multi-event young athlete, Youth Olympic Games 2030.
Chairman of NOC Indonesia, Raja Sapta Oktohari, said that the bidding was held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, afternoon WIB, just before the peak of NOC Indonesia's 73rd birthday celebration event.
"We conveyed earlier directly to the IOC (International Olympic Committee), hopefully it will be continued with the next meetings. Hopefully, Indonesia can be trusted to host the Youth Olympic Games," he said.
Youth Olympic Games is Indonesia's first step towards pursuing a much bigger target, namely hosting the Summer Olympics. Regarding that, Indonesia has also conducted a bidding.

Okto, as Raja Sapta Oktohari is called, emphasized that Indonesia has infrastructure that is very ready to hold major events after previously hosting the 2018 Asian Games and Asian Para Games in Jakarta and Palembang.
"Even after that (Asian Games and Asian Para Games) there are new venues such as the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) and the Indonesia Arena which are also the pride of Indonesia," said Okto.
NOC Indonesia will then continue to communicate and hold several meetings with the IOC. This must be maximized so that it can convince the IOC that Indonesia can be a very ready host.
Okto admitted that he was very confident that Indonesia had a great opportunity to win the trust to hold Youth Olympic Games because of his experience in organizing important events.
"We are quite sure that it is supported by the people of Indonesia, supported by the government, especially. God willing, Indonesia can gain trust," he said.
Youth Olympic Games is a multi-event international for athletes aged 15 to 18 years organized by the IOC. This event is held once every four years.
The next summer edition of this event will take place in 2026 in Dakar, Senegal. The host for the 2030 edition is currently still in the status to be announced (TBA), aka it is still in the bidding process and will be announced.
