Persita Tangerang Wins Elite Pro U-20 Academic Champion From Dewa United, Persija Becomes 3rd Winner

JAKARTA - Persita Tangerang successfully secured the title at the Elite Pro Academic category U-20. The result was obtained after passing the drama on penalties in the final round against Dewa United.

In the final match which was held at Patriot Chandrabhaga Stadium, Bekasi on Saturday, February 22 afternoon WIB, Persita did go through a long effort to become a champion. The reason is that in normal time the match went 0-0.

This situation forced the match to continue for 120 minutes, where the final determination must also be carried out through a penalty execution. In the penalty execution, Persita got her first turn and produced a goal and the match was over for them with a score of 4-3.

With the victory achieved by Persita Tangerang in this final round, the status of champion belongs to the Young Cisadane Warrior. Meanwhile, Dewa United, who holds the runner-up title, Eka Ramdani as the coach, said that the opponent deserved to win even though in the second half his team dominated.

"Persita deserves to be the champion with a game pattern like earlier. Even though in the second half you Dewa United played dominantly, the final result did determine that Persita deserved the title," he said during a post-match press conference.

The day before, Persija Jakarta U-20 also appeared in the race round for third place in the 2024/2025 U-20 Academy Elite Pro League 1 2024/2025. Facing North Maluku United FC, the match played at MJCC Field, Bekasi City, on Friday, February 21 afternoon was won by Persija with a score of 2-0.

In that match, Persija U-20 was able to take the lead thanks to Kanaka Attha Riady's goal in the 26th minute. However, Malut United FC managed to equalize when the first half injury time went through the white spot created by M Ariel.

The 1-1 score was the result of the first and second round matches in normal time. This condition made the Persija U-20 vs North Maluku United FC duel continue to extra time, where Persija finally won after Wondo Sulaiman scored in the 108th minute.
