Apriyani Is Ready To Return After 6 Months Of Absence

Apriyani Rahayu has been registered on the European tour after being sidelined due to injury (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA The women's doubles specialist, Apriyani Rahayu, continues to prepare herself well to return to the tournament after six months of being sidelined due to injury problems.

The owner of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic gold medal is scheduled to appear on the European tour next month. He will return to play with his partner Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti.

The former colleague of Greysia Polii said that one of the intense preparations was trying to build a competitive match atmosphere during the preparation period at the PBSI National Training Center.

"It's like I started again from scratch. Tensions and others may be different when we practice. So, it must have been prepared before entering the field," said Apriyani.

Apriyani played her last competitive match at the 2024 Paris Olympics. At that time she and Fadia ran aground in the group stage after not being able to secure a single win from three matches.

Apri/Fadia are currently registered in three European tournaments. Their journey starts with the Orleans Masters (4-9 March 2025), All England (11-16 March 2025), and the Swiss Open (18-23 March 2025).

Apriyani admitted that currently she is not haunted by injury trauma and is very ready for combat in the field. However, he is still reluctant to reveal specific targets when returning to play later.

"The point is, whatever it is, I'm all-out. I have to be ready for anything on the pitch. So, for the results, I will follow. I can't say anything now because I have to prepare," he said.

During the absence of Apri, Fadia was paired with Lanny Tria Mayasari. The duet resulted in a Super 300 title at Thailand Masters 2025 and Indonesia International Challenge 2024 in Surabaya.

In addition, they also contributed when Indonesia managed to bring trophies from the 2025 Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championship (BAMTC) which took place in Qingdao, China.
