PSSI Asprov Please Cristiano Ronaldo Support NTT Football

Cristiano Ronaldo will visit NTT, Indonesia, for a charity agenda (Instagram/@cristiano).

JAKARTA The PSSI Province Association (Asprov) in East Nusa Tenggara hopes that Cristiano Ronaldo will provide support for the development of football in the region when he attends the agenda there.

The soccer superstar from Portugal is scheduled to land at El Tari Airport, Kupang, NTT, on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 11.00 WITA. He came for a number of charity agendas.

Secretary General of Asprov PSSI NTT, Abdul Muis, said that Ronaldo's presence would be an important momentum for the development of football in his area.

"We have hope that Ronaldo can support the development of East Nusa Tenggara football," said Abdul Muis when contacted by telephone on Monday, February 17, 2025.

The certainty of the arrival of the former Real Madrid player was previously confirmed by Asprov NTT through a letter numbered 280/PSSI-NTT/II/2025 signed by the Chairman of the PSSI NTT Asprov, Christian Mboeik.

Ronaldo's presence in East Nusa Tenggara was facilitated by the Graha Kasih Indonesia Foundation. The 40-year-old footballer came there for charity activities to provide assistance for cancer sufferers.

Abdul Muis could not reveal the details of the Al Nassr star agenda for sure because everything was regulated by the Graha Kasih Foundation. However, the foundation opened up space for the NTT Asprov to be able to meet and discuss with Ronaldo.

"Later we together with the foundation will meet the Governor of NTT. There, we discuss each other. Of course Ronaldo's presence will be a spirit and supplement for NTT football," he said.

The agenda for the meeting is planned to take place at the NTT Governor's Office on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. The meeting and discussion will take place at 10.30 WITA.

This is not the first time Ronaldo has come to Indonesia. The players who have defended Manchester United have previously been here in 2005 and 2013, respectively.

In 2013 he came as an ambassador for mangrove rescue. At that time, the world soccer superstar helped plant trees with the Sixth President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
