Arne Slot Is Happy With Liverpool's Squad Even Though There Was No Transfer In January

JAKARTA - Liverpool manager, Arne Slot, confirmed that he was happy with his squad even though the club failed to bring in new players in the January 2025 transfer market.

Slot has only brought in two players since joining Liverpool from Feyenoord, namely striker Federico Chiesa and goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili - who spent the season on loan with La Liga club Valencia - signed a deal last summer.

However, Liverpool have surpassed expectations this season to climb to the top of the Premier League standings and the Champions League group stage. Slot believes his players have the quality to win trophies.

"Maybe not many managers have squads as good as me. I've said it many times."

"We have a very good squad. If you look at the league standings, I think the players have shown the trust we have in them."

"We don't have many injuries, long-term injuries. We do have several players like Alisson (Becker), (Diogo) Jota, the others."

"However, apart from Trent (Alexander-Arnold), they are all available again today. So, there is no reason to add players to the team unless there is an opportunity on the transfer market."

"We saw it on the goalkeeper we brought. However, for now we are happy with the team we have," Arne Slot said at a press conference on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.

Liverpool will have the opportunity to move forward to the trophy on Friday, February 7, 2025, early morning WIB, when they host Tottenham Hotspur in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semifinals.

Slot's team had to reverse the 0-1 deficit in the first leg if they wanted to secure a place at Wembley. The Dutch coach believes his players already know the scale of the tasks they face at Anfield.

"I don't think I need to prepare them differently from other matches."

"From now on until the end of the season and as long as Liverpool are still there, you have to win the game."
