Thomas & Uber Cup Schedule 2024

JAKARTA The Indonesian badminton team will start the fight against England and Hong Kong in the first match of the 2024 Thomas & Uber Cup.

The women's and men's team championships will take place at the Chengdu High-tech Zone Sports Center Gymnasium, China, from Saturday, April 27, 2024, to May 5, 2024.

The Indonesian team for the 2024 Thomas Cup will start the struggle in Group C against England. In the BWF schedule, the second duel will be held at 17.00 WIB.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian team for the 2024 Uber Cup, which is also in Group C, will start their journey against Hong Kong. The match will start at 12.00 WIB.

Indonesia went to China with two different targets. The men's team carried a mission to bring home the 2024 Thomas Cup trophy, while the women's team was targeted to reach the 2024 Uber Cup semifinals.

The men's team in the last two editions of the Thomas Cup successfully penetrated the final. Of the two occasions, one of them ended in the 2021 edition and the other ended as runner-up in the 2022 Thomas Cup.

Then, the women's team had been working on the title in the Uber Cup for so long. The last time Indonesia brought the Uber Cup trophy to the country was 28 years ago in the 1996 edition which was held in Hong Kong.

In the Thomas Cup, Indonesia is still the country with the most title collections, namely 14 trophies. Meanwhile, the Uber Cup trophy has only been brought home three times.

The Indonesian men's and women's teams both brought ten players to the 2024 Thomas and Uber Cups.

The men's teams consist of Jonatan Christie, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo, and Alwi Farhan (single) and Fajar Alfian, Muhammad Rian Ardianto, Bagas Maulana, Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, Leo Rolly Carnando, and Daniel Marthin (double).

Then, the women's team consisted of the names Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo, Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi, and Ruzana (single) and Apriyani Rahayu, Siti Fadia Silva, Lanny Tria Mayasari, Ribka Sugiarto, Meilysa Trias Puspita, and Rachel Alllessya Rose (double).
