Failing to Win Against Galatasaray, Manchester United Is Threatened With Failing to Reach the Last 16

JAKARTA - Manchester United failed to win which put their bid for the last 16 in the Champions League under threat. In the match at the Rams Global Stadium, Thursday, November 30 early morning of Western Indonesian Time (WIB), MU, who was already leading 3-1, finally drew 3-3 against Galatasaray.

The scenario in the first match at Old Trafford almost repeated itself. MU took the lead first but then lost 3-2 when they hosted Galatasaray.

Now, MU has visited the headquarters of this Turkish club. As a result, the Red Devils took the lead 3-1.

Instead of winning. The players' poor competitive mentality meant that MU was only able to draw 3-3.

Very disappointing results. Players can always break into the opponent's goal, but goalkeeper Andre Onana also concedes too easily which makes the team fail to win.

Failure to get full points put MU's position on the brink. They are in danger of failing to qualify for the knockout rounds because their fate depends entirely on the results of other matches.

The reason is, MU has only got four points and is at the bottom of the standings. Meanwhile, Galatasaray is in third place with five points. The same as Copenhagen who is in second place and will face Bayern Munich.

Galatasaray has a better chance of qualifying alongside Bayern than MU. However, their fate also depends on the Copenhagen match.

In that match, MU actually got off to a great start. They played offensively to chase victory.

As a result, winger Alejandro Garnacho had found the back of the opponent's goal after just 11 minutes of the match. This Argentinian national team player successfully completed Bruno Fernandes' assist.

It didn't take long for MU to increasingly frustrate Galatasaray. Only seven minutes later, the three-time Champions League champions managed to increase their lead.

Entering the second half, MU did not reduce the tempo of the game. Even though Erik ten Hag's troops had a little less possession of the ball than the hosts, they were able to play effectively.

As a result, MU added a goal through midfielder Scott McTominay in the 58th minute. The Scottish national team captain was able to complete a pass from Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

When they were leading 3-1, MU's performance began to decline. Especially goalkeeper Onana who allowed Zyech to break into the net with a free kick in the 62nd minute.

The goal raised the spirits of the Galatasaray players. They are trying to catch up by one goal. The hosts' attacks increasingly threatened MU's defense and their goal was just a matter of time.
