Anthony Sinisuka Ginting Is The Only Indonesian Representative In The Semifinals Of The Singapore Open

JAKARTA - The men's singles badminton player, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, is the only Indonesian representative left in the semifinals of the Singapore Open 2023 which will take place on Saturday, June 10. The second seed will meet with Kunlavut Vitidsarn from Thailand to compete for a ticket to the final of the tournament in the BWF Super 750 category.

In facing the semifinal match, Ginting stated that he had to be even more prepared because his opponent would definitely be stronger. He will focus on himself and carry out recovery and discussions with his coach. Ginting also gave appreciation to Kunlavut Vitidsarn as a smart badminton player and was able to process the strategy well in the field.

"Kunlavut is one of the smart players, not easy to turn off. He is also very patient. Of course tomorrow, each of them already has a strategy," said Ginting.

Although the meeting records between the two showed that Ginting had only won two wins from six meetings, Ginting remained confident and was happy to appear at the Singapore Open. He stated that the atmosphere in the arena was able to make him comfortable, such as when playing in Jakarta, because he received support from the audience.

"Facing a semifinal match, I have to be even more prepared. The opponent will definitely be stronger. But I will focus on myself. Also recover and discuss with the coach," Ginting said through official PP PBSI information in Jakarta, Saturday, June 10.

Before successfully advancing to the semifinals, Ginting first went through the quarter-finals which took place in the rubber game. He managed to beat Chinese badminton player, Li Shi Feng, after playing for 62 minutes with the final score 21-13, 16-21, 21-12.

The win also set a unique record in Ginting vs. Li's meeting, where Ginting won all of their meetings that took place in the quarter-finals.

Anthony Sinisuka Ginting hopes to give his best in the next match and strives to advance to the Singapore Open final. With his enthusiasm and readiness, Ginting hopes to overcome the challenges of Kunlavut Vitidsarn and achieve positive results in the match.
