Syabda Perkasa Belawa Dies, PBSI Conveys Deep Condolences: Goodbye Tough Athletes

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) expresses its deep condolences for the departure of one of their best men's singles, Syabda Perkasa Belawa. PBSI also confirmed the cause of the athlete's death due to an accident.

This news was shared by PBSI through their latest upload on Twitter, Monday, March 20 morning WIB, PBSI provided information about the unfortunate incident that befell Syanda.

"Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi roji'un. The PP PBSI extended family expresses their deepest condolences for the passing of one of Indonesia's young athletes, Syabda Perkasa Belawa (21 years) in an accident on the Pemalang (Central Java) toll road, Monday (20/3) in the morning," wrote PBSI.

The sudden departure of Syabda is clearly a deep sorrow for the world of badminton in the country. Syabda's departure has left an achievement that will continue to be remembered.

"Please pray that his spirit will be husnul khatimah and accept it in the best place in the sight of Allah. The departure of Syabda Perkasa Belawa leaves deep sorrow for his family, colleagues, and the entire Indonesian sports community," continued PBSI.

"Goodbye, tough athlete. Your achievements and sacrifices will always be remembered," wrote the ending of condolences.

Syabda left a brilliant achievement. At a young age, he is predicted to be the forerunner of a men's singles who can continue the dominance of the men's singles in the country.

Syabda's achievements can be seen through his appearance when he was successful in being part of the team that won last year's Thomas Cup runners-up in Bangkok. He appeared once in the group stage and contributed points when he defeated South Korea 3-2.

In individual tournaments, Syabda's career is also on the rise. Syabda won Lithuania International 2022, Malaysia International 2022, and was the latest to win at Iran Fajr International 2023 in February.
