Lionel Messi Wins Ballon D'Or 2021, Seventh Of His Career

JAKARTA - Lionel Messi has won the 2021 Ballon d'Or. This is the seventh trophy that La Pulga has collected throughout his career.

In an event that was held at the Theater de Chatelet, Paris, France, Tuesday morning WIB, the Argentine captain was certain to beat his competitors.

The Paris Saint-Germain star beat two players to claim this individual's most prestigious title, namely Robert Lewandowski in second and Jorginho in third.

“Today I am here in Paris. I'm very happy, very happy, I really want to keep fighting and reach new goals," Messi said after receiving the trophy quoted on Twitter Fabrizio Romano.

"I don't know how many more years but I'm really enjoying myself. I thank my team-mates at Barça, Paris & Argentina.”

Messi also did not forget to convey a message to Lewandowski who he considered worthy of this trophy. Especially last year when the award was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
