DENPASAR - A tectonic earthquake with a magnitude of 2.3 occurred in the Tejakula area, Buleleng Regency, Bali.

Head of Denpasar MKG Center III, Agus Wahyu Raharjo, explained that the Tejakula area, Buleleng, Bali, was rocked by a tectonic earthquake.

"The results of the BMKG analysis show that this earthquake has a magnitude of M = 2.3. The epicenter is located at coordinates 8.13 ° South Latitude; 115.33 ° East Longitude, or precisely located on land at a distance of 26 km southeast of Buleleng, Bali at a depth of 13 km," said Raharjo in his written statement, Monday, November 1.

The type and mechanism of the earthquake by taking into account the location of the epicenter and the depth of the hypocenter, is a type of shallow earthquake due to active fault activity on land.

Then, for the impact of the earthquake based on community reports in the form of shaking felt in the Tejakula area with vibrations felt by several people, light objects that were hung swayed.

"Until now, there have been no reports of the impact of damage caused by the earthquake. The results of tsunami modeling with tectonic earthquake sources show that this earthquake has no tsunami potential," he added.

Meanwhile, at 18:43 central Indonesia time, the results of BMKG monitoring did not show any aftershock activity. He also appealed to the public to remain calm and not be influenced by issues that cannot be accounted for.

"And avoid buildings that are cracked or damaged by the earthquake. Check and make sure the residential buildings are earthquake-resistant enough, or that there is no damage due to earthquake vibrations that endanger the stability of the building before returning to the house," said Raharjo.
