Ganjar Pranowo's Orders Regarding The PTM Cluster In Semarang: Close The School, Take Care Of The Child, Do Tracking

JAKARTA - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo requested the closure of a number of schools related to the findings of the COVID-19 cluster in face-to-face learning (PTM) in Semarang City, in accordance with standard procedures.

"Yes, it is closed, the school is closed first and the children are taking care of it. And tracing and testing are carried out, basically, according to the SOP, it will be closed for two weeks, and will continue to be evaluated," he said in Semarang, as reported by Antara, Monday, November 1.

Ganjar emphasized that the findings of the PTM cluster could mean the importance of maintaining health protocols and every school must have a COVID-19 Task Force which is responsible for continuously monitoring the implementation of PTM, as well as conducting evaluations.

"That's what I said, you have to be disciplined. Yes, they can be infected even though the data that comes to us is asymptomatic, so the SOP is basically closed and every school must have a COVID-19 Task Force that monitors it continuously, and we evaluate for sure," he said after the Coordination Meeting for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19 at the Central Java Governor's office.

The number one person in Central Java asked students and teachers who tested positive for COVID-19 to be given treatment.

In addition, tracking and inspection of the school concerned must be carried out.

Nevertheless, Ganjar ensured that PTM would continue to be carried out in schools that were safe and orderly with health protocols, and no cases of COVID-19 transmission were found.

"Keep going, others keep going, with the SOP becoming a habit that can be used as a guideline for implementing PTM. Unless it is massive in all cities, it is closed for 14 days, there are only five important days followed by 'tracing' and 'testing'," he said.
