Good News For Palangka Raya: Only 17 COVID-19 Patients Left

JAKARTA - Mayor of Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan, Fairid Naparin said the number of positive patients infected with COVID-19 and still undergoing treatment was only 17 people.

"The latest data from a total of 13,087 positive COVID-19 patients, only 17 people or 0.13 percent of patients are still undergoing treatment," Fairid said in Palangka Raya, Sunday, October 31.

Fairid, who is also the Head of the Palangka Raya City COVID-19 Task Force, added that from the number of positive patients, it was recorded that the accumulation of recovered patients from exposure to the virus reached 12,557 people or 95.95 percent of the total positive cases.

Although the recovery rate continues to increase, the youngest regional head in the Central Kalimantan Province also asked the local community to continue to implement strict health protocols.

Moreover, the COVID-19 Task Force "City of Beauty" noted that from all positive cases, 513 people in the capital city of Central Kalimantan province died after being exposed to the virus.

The data was collected from all areas in Palangka Raya City covering five sub-districts covering 30 urban villages. The increase in COVID-19 cases, according to him, is also a form of the city government's seriousness in tracing close contacts between the community and positive patients.

As an effort to break the chain of the spread of COVID-19, the Palangka Raya City Government, through the task force team, continues to make various efforts, ranging from socialization, early detection, security to case handling.

He added that currently, cases of COVID-19 in the provincial capital of Central Kalimantan have continued to decline since the end of last October. The impact is that the Palangka Raya City Government is currently implementing the Level 2 Implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) until 8 November.

Communities in the Capital Region of Central Kalimantan Province are also asked to always apply the COVID-19 health protocol as an effort to minimize potential and prevent the chain of spreading COVID-19 that never ends.
