Opening The Mural Contest, National Police Chief Sigit: The One Who Dares To Draw The Most Spicy Will Be My Friend

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo asked the participants of the 2021 National Police Chief's Cup Mural Festival to dare to criticize his staff. He even promised that the participant with the best and the hottest picture would become his best friend.

This was conveyed by Listyo when opening an activity with the theme The Role of the Young Generation to Be Creative in Conveying Positive Information during the COVID-19 Pandemic Period on Saturday, October 30.

"We will tell our friends that the pictures are good, there will be a jury, especially regarding the National Police, if it's the sharpest picture we will accept and I guarantee that those who dare to draw like that will become friends of the Chief of Police, become friends of the Chief of Police," said Listyo, who was greeted applause from the participants.

He said the National Police were always open to the public's expressions, both positive and negative. Positive expressions, continued Listyo, will motivate them to work even better.

"The negative is also allowed because it is part of our self-reflection, introspection to change for the better according to people's expectations," he said.

Furthermore, Listyo also ensures that all participants can express their expressions without worrying that they will be caught later. He ensures that freedom of expression is protected by law, although in its implementation it must still pay attention to the applicable rules and must not harm others.

"I emphasize that the Police really respect freedom of expression. Earlier, the President said that Indonesia is a very democratic country and respects freedom of expression. Therefore, we as an institution adhere to the existing rules, directed by the President," he said.

Moreover, Listyo believes that all input submitted by the community, including the contestants, is one of the means so that the Police can continue to improve the performance and attitude of the personnel.

"So we prepare this institution to be better, so that the Police can be trusted by the public and the Police are loved by the community," he said.

Previously, the Indonesian National Police held a mural art festival or competition for the 2021 National Police Chief Cup with the theme The Role of the Young Generation to Be Creative in Conveying Positive Information during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

This activity was carried out at the Bhayangkara Field. Meanwhile, registration for the competition to win the National Police Chief's Cup has been opened from September 27 to October 17 at the Polda level and October 20, 2021 at the National Police Headquarters.

In addition to being allowed to provide criticism, the National Police also provides other sub-themes in the form of caring for others during the COVID-19 Pandemic, together carrying out health protocols, Indonesia is healthy and strong, free from COVID-19, and jointly safeguarding Indonesia.
