KPK Reminds Riau Islands Governor To Beware Of Potential Corruption And Sale And Purchase Of Positions

TANJUNGPINANG - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) reminded Riau Islands Governor Ansar Ahmad about the potential for corruption in the procurement of goods and services (PBJ) sector and the sale and purchase of positions.

The KPK, represented by the Head of the Sumatra Korsupgah Korsupgah Task Force I, Azril Zah, conveyed this during a coordination meeting and monitoring and evaluation of the PBJ sector as well as the sale and purchase of positions with the Riau Islands Provincial Government at Wan Seri Beni Hall, Dompak Island, Tanjungpinang, Thursday, October 28.

"This agenda specifically discusses preventing corruption in the PBJ sector and buying and selling positions," said Azril Zah, quoted by Antara.

Azril said the corruption prevention program was aimed at realizing good governance. Especially the administration of PBJ and the sale and purchase of positions.

According to him, the KPK's target is not to arrest or conduct OTT against government officials or civilians, but the most important thing is to prevent corruption related crimes.

"Our target is not to conduct OTT, because it is only the methods and procedures carried out according to the KPK Law in an effort to prevent corruption," said Azril Zah.

For this reason, he suggested optimizing regional income, human resource management, management of regional property and management of balance funds to be carried out honestly so as to create good governance and clean governance.

Meanwhile, Riau Islands Governor Ansar Ahmad before the KPK ensured that he paid special attention to the administration of a government that was free from corruption.

"Since the beginning I was entrusted as the Riau Islands Governor together with Mrs. Marlin Agustina, we have confirmed our intention to lead the Riau Islands Provincial Government away from corruption. We have confirmed this in the Riau Islands Province mission in the RPJMD," said the Governor.

Governor Ansar's mission is to implement clean, open, service-based and environmentally friendly governance principles.

Governor who was accompanied by Pj. Secretary Lamidi realized that the procurement of goods and services is an area that is prone to corruption. Therefore, the Riau Islands Provincial Government has made several efforts to ensure the procurement of goods and services in accordance with the rules and regulations.

Some of these efforts include making the goods and services procurement unit into a separate bureau through the Riau Islands Governor Regulation Number 73 of 2019. Also carried out the fulfillment of PBJ's functional positions as many as 24 people based on job analysis.

In addition, a comprehensive e-Procurement implementation is carried out by utilizing the SPSE, e-Catalogie and Procurement Defense applications.

"Strict supervision and systems are needed to ensure the implementation of transparent and accountable procurement of goods and services. We welcome the presence of the KPK so that it can provide suggestions and improvements to run a clean government in the future," said the Governor.

The governor also emphasized that the management of ASN in the Riau Islands Provincial Government does not know what is transactional.

Currently, the filling of the Pratama High Position (JPT) is carried out with an open recruitment system, as well as mutations and promotions of echelon III and IV which are based on their respective competencies to achieve the philosophy of right man on the right place.
